Will or going to:

Cuando utilizar will o going to:

Generally we use will when we decide to do something at the time of speaking. Something is new to you (for instance information you didn't know) and you decide to do something about it just then.

En general utilizamos 'will' cuando decidimos hacer algo en el mismo momento en que estamos hablando. Algo es nuevo para ti (por ejemplo, información de la cual no sabías) y por eso decides actuar en ese entonces.

*I've left the door open...I'll go and close it then.***			*He dejado la puerta abierta...Iré y la cerraré entonces.*

*I am too tired just now. I think I'll call a taxi.*			*Ahora mismo estoy muy cansado. Creo que llamaré un taxi.*

*'Would you like something to drink?' 'I'll have a coke please'*			*-¿Le gustaría algo de beber? -Tomaré una coca, por favor.*

Going to: when we have already decided to do something we use going to instead. It is generally something that we intend to do in the future.

En cambio, cuando ya hemos decidido hacer algo de antemano utilizamos 'going to'. Es generalmente algo que intentaremos hacer en el futuro.





I am going to travel round the world with all your money!			*¡Voy a viajar por el mundo con todo tu dinero!*

'There is an international football match on tv. *Are you going* to watch it?' 'No I am going out with someone.'			*-Hay un partido internacional de fútbol ¿Vas a mirarlo? 'No, voy a salir con alguien.'*

*'I've decided to make a party.' 'Who are you going to invite?'*			*-He decidido hacer una fiesta. -¿A quien vas a invitar?*

We also use going to when we say what we think will happen in the future. Usually there is a clear situation in the present that makes us to be sure about what will happen.

También utilizamos el 'going to' cuando decimos que pensamos que sucederá en el futuro. En general hay una clara situación en el presente que nos hace estar seguros de lo que realmente sucederá.





*'Look at those clouds...I think it's going to rain soon!' 'Yes.'***			*-Observa esas nubes...¡Creo que va a llover pronto! -Sí.*


*'I don't feel well...I am going to throw up!'*			*-No me siento bien...¡Voy a vomitar!*

*Look at that kid....He is going to fall in that hole!*			*-Mira a ese chico....¡Se va a caer en el pozo!*

Otherwise, if we are predicting...saying what we think will happen with no connection with the present use will.

De otra forma, si estamos tratamos de predecir...diciendo lo que pensamos que sucederá sin conexión con el presente utiliza will.

*'Do you thing it will rain?' 'No idea!'*			*-¿Piensas que lloverá? -¡No tengo idea!*

*'You will meet a tall dark man soon...'*			*Conocerás un hombre alto y sombrío pronto...*

Now you have to choose between both (going to or will). Try to do this easy fill in the blanks exercise.

Ahora tienes que elegir entre ambos (going to o will). Trata hacer este simple ejercicio de completar los espacios en blanco.

'Are you leaving now?' 'Yes...I am going to will buy a packet of cigarettes.'

   'I don't know how this Ipod works...' 'It's easy...I am going to will show you. First...'

'Gosh, I haven't got any money!' 'Don't worry...I am going to will lend you a couple of bucks.'

  'Why did you turn the tv off?' 'I am going to will have an early night.'

'Those are very heavy black clouds...I think it is going to will rain soon.'

'What are you going to do after finishing school?' 'I've just decided that Iam going to willstart studying English'
