To talk about something happening
around the time of speaking, but not necessarily at the time of speaking:
example: Tom is driving now. He is driving, waving and smiling...He is having an affair with a very rich lady.

ejemplo: Tomás ahora está manejando. Está manejando, saludando y sonriendo...Tiene un amorío con una chica adinerada.

3 We also use the present continuous tense for changing situations:
examples: Maradona is ill...But now he is getting better

4 Structure to form sentences in this tense, you will have to know:
a) the conjugation of the verb to be:
(in red)
b) the "-ing" form of a verb (in green)

Nota que en castellano usamos la terminación del gerundio (ando, endo). Deberás tener en cuenta que en inglés no siempre será tan fácil como agregar ing...A veces se duplican letras (swimming, getting etc). Pero te lo explicaremos en las lecciones siguientes. |

5 Negative forms:
To turn all the previous sentences into negative ones, you simply have to add ''not'' examples: am not ( 'm not) driving is not ( 's not ) playing are not ( 're not) studying etc
He is not studying. He is sleeping.... |

5 Formas negativas: Para cambiar las anteriores oraciones a negativas, sólo tienes que agregar ''not'' ejemplos:
no estoy ( 'm not) manejando no está ( 's not) jugando, tocando etc no estamos etc ( 're not) estudiando
No está estudiando. Está durmiendo. |
