Possessive Adjectives

    

Adjetivos Posesivos

  
           
  Before a noun, you often use words that help you indicate possession (they help you say who that object or thing belongs to)
 		     Antecediendo al sustantivo usted a menudo utiliza palabras que le ayudan a indicar posesión ( le ayudan a expresar de quién es ese objeto o cosa en cuestión)  
 

 

    

 

  
           
         My cake!...It is my birthday....I am five today    



¡Mi torta!....Es mi cumpleaños....Hoy tengo / cumplo cinco años

  
    Your birthday...Is it your birthday?Congratulations!      


Tu cumpleaños...¿Es tu cumpleaños? ¡Felicitaciones!
 

  
  His computer. It is his job.      

 

Su computadora. Es su trabajo.

  
  Her baby. It is her son Paul      

 

Su bebé. Es su hijo Pablo

  
  Its nest. It is its future home...      

 

Su nido. Es su futuro hogar....

  
  Our money. Let's share our profits.      

 

Nuestro dinero. Compartamos nuestros beneficios.

  
  Their love. It is their happiness. They are together.

Note: Possesssives in the singular Note: possessives in the plural

mi, mis

your

su, sus, tu, tus.

his

su, sus (para el sexo masculino)
   
her   su, sus (para el sexo femenino)
   
its  su para el neutro (objetos, cosas o animales)


 These are the possessives in the singular. You have seen them in the introduction to the course. ( Estos son los posesivos en singular. Los has visto en la introducción al curso)

su (de ustedes)
vuestro, vuestra, vuestros, vuestras (de vosotros)

their

su, sus (de ellos o ellas

 

 


And these are the possessives in the plural. We use them for two or more things.  (Y estos son los posesivos en plural: los usamos para dos o más objetos o cosas)
